3 ways to help your tax professional

  1. Start collecting your tax documents early. Your tax professional will need your revenue and expenses organized by category, a list of your assets and their market value, and a clear picture of your inventory levels at the beginning and end of the year.

  2. Perform bank reconciliation to make sure your numbers tie to records. Its important to always double check your expense and revenue totals to your bank account numbers. If there are descrpencies, get to the bottom of them prior to tax filing season.

  3. Ask Questions! If you are not sure how to classify a certain transaction or how to set up your invoicing process then go to your accountant early. Nothing is worse than a accountant getting data that he cant rely on.
